The 2026 National Dance Coaches Conference in Dallas May 14-16 was truly a dreamy event that opened opportunities to recharge our dance team batteries in the most inspiring ways. A very special THANK YOU to our Title Sponsor Dallaswear Uniforms for making the 2026 Conference a memorable event.

Thursday:

We started with a welcoming registration process and “Slippers & Sips“ Cocktail Party sponsored by Rebel Athletics. The Partner Expo Hall was rockin‘ with all of the latest fashion and products designed to help our teams shine. We ate yummy hors d‘oeuvres and received so much swag that we had to go up to our rooms to put it away so that we had hands to eat. Coaches got creative with fun slippers and we spent the evening reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.

Friday:

Food! The Westin served us delicious food starting with breakfast. We also have Sharpen Up Dance Training to thank for sponsoring the beverage station to keep us hydrated (and caffeinated) all morning long.

The Conference opened with an energetic mixer specifically designed to network and get some quick grab-and-go ideas.

From there, coaches took classes from a slate of 22 Friday class offerings - covering all topics related to the dance team industry. The only difficult task was deciding which classes to take!

Friday night is a special event - the NDCA Gala. Carol Lloyd and her magical team of volunteers transformed the ballroom into a dreamy escape and after mingling in our little black dresses (and pants), we entered the classy space ready to honor our own (and eat!)

Congratulations to everyone who received their milestone coaching pins - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40! years. We also honored our "Of the Year“ nominees and winners.

Kevin Mathis, a legend in his own right, was inducted into the NDCA Hall of Fame. Read his bio here. Kevin delivered a fairytale speech and made us all feel grateful to be in the room.

Saturday:

After eating a delicious breakfast burrito and doing a morning dance energizer with Roland Latson, we headed into a workshop from Rob Miller of Proactive Coaching. He helped remind us why we coach and set us off in the right direction for program improvement. 15 different classes were offered after that and wow, they were all impactful.

We also met in divisions and had opportunities to find out more about programs the NDCA offers to members. How did we fit it all in and still find time for snacks and an end-of-Conference wrap up, all before 2 p.m.?

If you missed Dreaming in Dallas - bummer. Plan now to join us in Las Vegas for our 10-year anniversary Conference May 13 -15, 2027. It will change your coaching life.
